Ming-Chi Kuo, a famous Apple (AAPL.US) analyst and analyst at TF International Securities, responded to rumors that Apple may purchase Nvidia (NVDA.US)'s GB300 NVL72 by saying that the deal only involves about 250 racks or 18,000 GPUs, which is a relatively small order size compared to the 1.3 million GPUs that Meta (META.US) expects to purchase this year, according to foreign media. The acquisition alone won't significantly advance Apple's AI goals.

The mass shipments of GB300 NVL72 will not begin until 1H26, Kuo added. Apple's suppliers for this deal, Dell Technologies (DELL.US) and Super Micro Computer (SMCI.US), are not top-tier assemblers like Foxconn or Quanta, which means Apple may have to wait until 2Q26 or 3Q26, or even later, to receive its racks. The deal will not give Apple a significant AI advantage in the short term.
