During this year's National Day holiday, Chinese automakers initiated discount promotions weaker and narrower than those seen in previous years, according to the National Business Daily.

The report cited analysis by Cui Dongshu, Secretary-General of the Passenger Car Market Information Joint Committee of the China Automobile Dealers Association (CADA), who believed that the room for automakers to engage in a price war further diminished due to intensified "anti-involution" policies and the rebound in prices of lithium carbonate and other raw materials.
